P51D-10-NA 44-14419 was built at the North American Inglewood plant with construction number 109-28052.
She was shipped from the United States to the UK on August 26th 1944.
Assigned to Major William J Price on September 7th 1944 she was named “Janie” after his sister.
Major William J Price served with the 350th Fighter Squadron, 353rd Fighter Group.
Having flown 108 missions with a total of seven victories, Major Price completed his tour of duty on December 12th 1944 and returned to the U.S.
“Janie” was reassigned to Lieutenant George W Robinson who renamed her “Marilyn”.
P51D 44-14419 suffered an engine failure and Lt Robinson crash-landed her near Brussels on December 25th 1945.
